  • As the Purchaser you are entitled to choose your Building & Pest Inspector - If I can offer you any advice, it is that you do not use any inspector recommended by the selling agent & that you do not rely on a report provided by the agent/ vendor. To date I have never been approached by an agent to provide a report for the vendor and I have viewed a number of these reports - Over the past 18+ years some Unscrupulous Agents have attempted to persuade my clients to use anyone else but me. They may tell you "He takes too long" "He's too pedantic" "His reports are too detailed" "The owner won't allow him on site" etc - Well news flash agents - Purchasers are entitled to know all the issues/ defects with a property - That's the purpose of a building & pest inspection - If you experience this sort of Agent behaviour, l recommend you contact your Solicitor for Breach of Contract & You lodge a complaint to the relevant Government Agency i.e. Office of Fair Trading & Leave a Google review to warn other purchasers of the Agents tactics to sell a house. These sorts of agents need to be held accountable
